Work Day 16 (4/02) Makassar - Presenting our Recommendations

Today Javier and I presented our recommendation to the City of Makassar's Transportation Agency.  Although it was the same information we told them we would recommend, it was packaged in a formal presentation and brief to the Department Heads.

Tomorrow (Tuesday) we brief the Chief of the department.  The briefing met with may of the same questions, there are on funds at this time and although they want to make the improvements, it will take approvals and decisions at a much higher level.

After the presentation, we where invited to lunch by our two main points of contact, Hanson and Jasman, and our interpreter. We went to a "traditional" Indonesian lunch of meat soup and rice.  The rice in this case come hand packed in green wicker.  It was really good.  Then we went for a souvenir trip to a local store specializing in Indonesian goods.  Our Transportation Agency friends showed us Makassar t-shirts and the traditional Indonesian hat for us.
