Follow-up - Indonesia Team 3, Transportation Agency continues to work with IBM

I thought this was worth posting and passing on, Javier and I recently received an email from the IBM office in Indonesia.  It seems the Transportation Agency has reached out to IBM for additional information regarding some of the Smart City solutions.  In the words of an IBM Manager contact in Jakarta in a separate Sametime message, it's an "Opportunity after your (our) great CSC work".   #ibmcsc

Dear All,
(NOTE: Translater used to translate from Indonesian to English)

I met with Transportation Agency team, sharing and discussing Streetline Solution. They said it is nice to have  solution for now, since the most concerning is how to manage the traffic better and inteligently. With only 10% of annual budget ($100K) given, they must serve the community better which mostly they expend it on maintenance and unable to use it to run any solution. As you may know that the decision maker is on Mayor's hand, we need to share live to him and let him feel the benefit of the solution, thus the chance is going bigger to get approval.

FYI, I took below image from IBM Office this morning and you can see the traffic in one of the main street. Now we know why they're concerned about traffic.

Our time is at an end - our last day together

Passing out my gifts to the team
The night before was our last team meeting to pass out gifts (from each other) and a team dinner.  It was an emotional experience for some, but the effect was to bring a final closeness to the team. A lot of things were said about our experience and I stated; my sense was, we were like a large family, we all worked together, and worked out any issues, and in the end, we all left Indonesia on a particularly high note.

The team room . . . and the affects of the team gift giving party
The morning after in the team room. I took the picture, then cleaned it up.
Enjoying our gift from Evi.

Javier and I also got a chance to try an Indonesian treat provide by one of our favoriate department of transportation friends, Evi!  She gave us "fish brain bread".  I didn't know it until we opened the package, we had eaten it several times already, and enjoyed it

I woke early so I could ooVoo (like Skype) with my wife and started packing my bags.  The team still had to complete some knowledge transfer data and putting all photo's into a common hard drive. We would all then share the drive to transfer photo's our PC's.  Then it was time for the first of us to leave, Marcelo (to continue a vacation in Indonesia), Jessica and myself to return to Minnesota.  #ibmcsc

The final hugs
This one is one of my favorites . . . !  It says a lot about how we felt, without words.
